Credit Insurance & Private Credit with Angela Chang and Jamie Stork of Texel Asia
Credit insurance is often treated as something that sits alongside a financing. But for private credit lenders, the more interesting question is whether the availability of insurance should influence the way a deal is underwritten, structured and documented from the outset.
In this live Knowledge Series session, Sabrina Fox will be joined by Angela Chang and Jamie Stork of Texel Asia to explore how the credit insurance market works in practice.
They’ll discuss how the market has evolved, who provides capacity, where insurers currently have appetite and where limitations arise. From there, the conversation will focus on what private credit teams should consider when writing new deals, including when to bring brokers and insurers into the process and how the financing documents and insurance policy need to work together.
Finally, the session will follow the credit into stress. What happens when a borrower restructures or defaults? How does a claim work? What happens to the debt after payment and how are recoveries managed?
The session will conclude with live audience Q&A.
